This project is carried out by Dr. Patria López de Victoria from the Department of English at the University of Puerto Rico in Cayey.

 

The project is focused on exploring the processes of seeking medical help in caregivers and health or medical care professionals for older adults diagnosed with dementia. It focuses not only on the search for medical care after Hurricane María in 2017, but also attempts to collect the experiences in seeking medical help after the pandemic of the new coronavirus COVID-19 and in recent times. This study considers caregivers and medical or social care professionals from the municipalities of Cayey, Cidra and Comerío.
